Headed for the airport? Take the 28X bus. Pickup is at the Liberty Avenue stop between the Hotel once known as the Hilton and Gateway Center 3, and with minimal stops you'll be taken to the terminal door. The return trip will let you off at the stop by Gateway Center 4. Cost is $2.75 each way.
And speaking of public transportation, with a PortAuthority pass seniors ride the bus, light-rail ("T"), and inclines free of charge.
According to The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, 5000 people now live Downtown. And all 5000 are invited to the annual "Resident Block Party" in Market Squre, with food and beverages provided by area restaurants, music by local musicians, and many opportunities to meet and greet the folks who are your neighbors.
